Corey Taylor has shared his new song “Talk Sick,” the third single from his forthcoming sophomore solo album CMF2, set to drop on September 15th.
Taylor said of the song in a press release that he achieved the opening guitar riff by playing it through “a speaker about the size of a coffee cup”. Said Taylor: “It made it sound violent; you feel like you’re being stung by bees who are playing along to the Sex Pistols.” Taylor added of the song’s lyrics: “There’s an element of spiritual regurgitation, trying to purge yourself of demons that have been clinging to you because of prior relationships, romantic or otherwise. You realize those people bring a certain asshole side out of you that you don’t necessarily want in your life. It’s about trying to lance that boil and get that sickness out of you.”
Taylor will be hitting the road with his solo band for a U.S. tour in support of CMF2, kicking-off next Friday (August 25th) in Denver.
