Sunrise on Sundays Guestbook

Wonderful show to ease yourself out of bed on a lazy Sunday morning! Don’t know if you’ve ever played them, but there’s a super acoustic group from Newfoundland called Great Big Sea, who are awesome. Their best album is a concert album that comes with both a CD and a DVD; it’s called the Great Big DVD. Watch the DVD and you’ll be hooked!

Ellis, Yorktown

Hunter, is there any way you can get your producers to let you stretch Sunrise out until 1200 noon? Those 4 hours just go by way too fast for me every Sunday. You are the only one I know who plays my all time favorite, John Prine. I also enjoy your live acoustic sessions- thank you for a breath of fresh air.

Hampton Roads finally has it's very own "Acoustic Festival". BOB-FM's featured show "Sunrise On Sunday", has supported this forum for listener and artist for so long...and it has been a long time coming! It was great to see so many talented singer/songwriters from here and around the country come together to play and put this East Coast Festival on the map especially in the Mid-Atlantic region...and what a great sense of community for the folks who support and play this music, the same folks who normally gather from the house concerts and coffee houses, club venues and points beyond. The artist roster of talent was some the bestest in the industry, and with the talent of Shawn Mullins topping it all off !... It truly was a momentous occasion!...

Great to see Birdland, and the Natchel Blues Network out and doing this show! Guitar Virtuoso Matt Thomas too, way talented beyond his years was so awesome! Artist David Wilcox playing a first time song for Hunter's show, written the night before! It was a snapshot to see Julie Clark and David Wilcox exchanging songs and guitar on a bench in the middle of Town Point Park! Not to mention the fervor of crowd enthusiasm with Robbin Thompson and Lewis McGehee, and the standing ovation with Julie Clark's performance! The live broadcast of Sunrise On Sunday with these performing artists was a really nice intimate view of Hunter and artist...nice touch! Oh, the magic of radio...and acoustic music!

A great big shout goes out to Hunter and especially to Festevents... Thanks for keeping the true spirit of this music alive by supporting and bringing us all together in this wonderful festival celebration of local, regional & national artists and inviting all of us listeners who have been longtime supporters and consumers of this music to celebrate the "Sunrise to Sunset Acoustic Music Festival!" .... Can't wait for next year! ....Ooh Yah!

Joyce!

Just wanted to say what a great time I had yesterday at Town Point Park.. As a new fan to Shawn Mullins, what a show, must have played 6 songs from new disc. And with him was Clay Cook who co wrote with John Mayer, No Such Thing, they went to Berkeley together, what a talent. I spoke with both after the show….great guys. To Hunter Hughes…great job… to Eric…Poco is now playing at American Music Fest and a few weeks later at the Ferguson…….twice in 30 days, yeah….I'll pic up my certificate soon! Again….keep this festival going, maybe next year Gove Scrivenor??????

Hunter - enjoyed your interview with Jessie Alexander. She put a great show at the house concert. Thought that was I spotted @ the concert. Hey, I won the raffle, woo hoo. In my opinion the best things on radio are, Sunrise on Sunday, Out of the Box and an internet radio station on the west coast. the KPIG

David

Hi Hunter, I am a new listener but I have really enjoyed the Sunrise on Sunday's that I have heard. I really enjoyed today's with Shane Cooley, he seems to be a really talented young man. I hope you can get him on the show again sometime. Thanks for bringing the gift of great music to all of us listening!

Sincerely, Kendall Ashton

Hunter, While checking various radio stations several weeks ago...I found Sunrise on Sundays!! Wow, what a find! It is so wonderful to hear acoustic music. I just love it. It brings back yesterday for me. I wish that this type of music could be played all of the time but I'm grateful for Sundays. Don't change a thing. Maybe you could add a little Beth Neilson Chapman, Judy Collins, Ian and Sylvia, etc. I enjoy the live interviews. Thank you for this awesome show!!

How great to have you back... there's a large community of us who wait for Sunday mornings for your show and good coffee...the best part of the week!

Thanks, John Ward - PS GREAT stuff this morning...and the boys with Kevin So are killer!!!

I'm happy I found you again.

Thanks. Butch B.

The Sunrise program is the best thing going on radio in Hampton Roads and is absolutely the highlight of my radio listening week. There is a great station in California (the Bay area) called KPIG that plays a wonderfully eclectic playlist, and when I moved I thought I would never find such a station again. There is nowhere else to hear fabulous artists like Nanci Griffith, The Subdudes, Del Amitri, John Hiatt, Patty Griffin, The Indigo Girls, Eastmountainsouth, Jonatha Brooke, Robert Earl Keen, and Mark Knopfler. Keep up the great work and I hope Sunrise never dies!

Thanks for the great music every sunday morning it helps one to forget things. I emailed about a song I heard one morning {Maria Connel}. Her song what heaven touches me deeply for I lost my daughter to cancer on Nov 2nd.

Thank you, Tom Hood

Hi Hunter! Thanks for another amazing show this morning! Sunrise on Sunday's is the BEST radio on the air. Thanks for turning us on to some great stuff!

What a reason to get up early on Sunday! We tune in and relax every week. I really enjoy hearing all the great talented musicians that truly belong on radio! WOW! Keep up the great shows!

Amanda

THE ONLY REASON TO GET UP AT 6AM ON A SUNDAY MORNING IS TO HEAR THOSE "BREAK OUT IF THE MOLD" SONGS THAT MAKES MUSIC THE "MUSE" OF OUR DAY TO DAY LIVES! HUNTER IS A HAMPTON ROADS ORIGINAL, LUCKY FOR US, HE IS THE "ALTERNATIVE" TO THE 30 SONG PLAYLIST! THANK THE RADIO GOD!

Joyce

Sunrise on Sunday is one of the best programs on the radio. I get up early so I can catch the whole program. Please never leave the air.

The first song I heard I thought it was cool. After the 4th song I realized I found a show that could be a soul mate. The only avenue I had was my old cd's and the web - too much time spent on searches and forums to turn around and search for a way to listen to the music before I bought. Sundays are heaven now - the highlight of my week. My kids even know not to talk to Mommy during Sunrise on Sunday. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hey Hunter, You have brought REAL radio back to the airwaves. Thanks for playing new artist like Jackie Frost from Richmond. Stop by when you are close to the old neighborhood and say hello.
